Herald of Summer

Here in Western Washington, the first 19 days of June were pretty dreary. So much so that the local media started referring to it as “Juneuary.” With so many consecutive days of dull gray, it seemed the Solstice on June 20 was the first really nice day of weather. So much so, it almost seemed aggressively nice.

The late afternoon light on Mount Rainier was quite fantastic, exactly the sort of thing I had been looking for all month, and I was very happy to see it when it finally arrived.
