As the sun sets on 2015, we find our itinerant photographer opening a fresh can of cliché… This photo is literally the sunset on December 31, so while clichéd, it is fitting and accurate.

I’ve shot this scene before, but it’s one I really like and I enjoyed the moment of being there on the beach watching the sun sink into the ocean for the last time in 2015. The sun, beach and ocean don’t care – it’s just us people who place a greater significance on this event at this time – the last sunset of the year.

I look forward to the coming year and hope that it finds you well.

The Sun sets on 2011

This month’s wallpaper is an image I had been planning for a couple of months, knowing I was going to spending time in Southern California around the holidays, the beach sunset photo was a must on my bucket list.

2011 had been an interesting year for me, from a new position and a new group at work to finding new ways to explore my creativity through a camera viewfinder to being a part of something magical in help-portrait, I feel extremely fortunate for the year past and am looking forward to the year ahead.

But most of all, I look forward to sharing it with you.
